The front wheels of the Amphicar don’t just steer it on land, they also serve as rudders to steer it when afloat. I’ve seen the 1966 Amphicar on several occasions since I first began taking photos at car shows in 2002. Finding it is always like meeting up with an old friend.

Nice as that is, I'd hate to think of those white-walled tyres covered in crud from it driving in lake water. :P

We had an Amphicar dealer in the town where I was born; there were three or possibly four cars that would show up from time to time.
