Carni: In celebration of 'International Mother Earth Day' (22nd on April)
jenorafeuer protecting our one truest home among all that drifts in space and time~ ❤️
So in love with the concept for this one this time Jen'! ^_______^
Beautiful!
Ry: Holy gosh, I totally missed this when you were making it this is wonderful. What a beautiful concept and all of the golden strands that flow and protect while also being woven into Jenora's stallar outfit is lovely, the curls of light and stars in their hair also add a lovely effect... this piece is just really wonderful and every part of the simple colouration and conceptual depiction adds beautifully together. Am really taken aback with this one.

Thanks again! Glad you liked the idea as much as I did. I've only done the full 'star goddess' look a few times, but this one came out wonderfully.
(And I got thanked by a few people who were just plain happy that at least there was some macro Earth Day stuff out there that didn't involve destruction.)

“Boy,” she said, gentle and disciplined, more respectful motherlion than growlerhiss,
“The First Lioness, the Chaplain, Desert Sunrise she, would ask and know your name.”
The young man met her gaze, and her memory of subtle shock was instead suffused to
mutual reckon. The Tether. And she knew who she addressed, and why no fear matched
his heart, and hers was in brevity licked like a terrible tongue of fear; a Sturmbrakent.
“You know my name, Maman. though you’ve forgotten it for a while. But it’s all right,
and all is well; we’ll be home in a little while, from the place where no shadows fall.
Kindly, where we mind things; balance the books.”
“You know the place. Maahes has kept an eye on us, and he’s probably told you this in
brevity.”
“You asked him to as we grew inside you, knew we would set our eyes to the solar disk
by the Winter Equinox, then we were delivered and Father took us away so we’d be safe,
and we all yet are now.”
“We’ll explain when we’re back home and past the Second Gate, I promise. You know I
can’t lie, any more than you ever might. Mafdet’s rules borne from the Feather’s Task
and yours are beholden no less of the Truth-Told-Ma’at, Maman.”
“Please laugh inside, when you can; I love laughter. Honest laughter cures the soul, or
helps you focus in moments of horror. You know, like this one."
"I understand, of all people I do.”
“Meet me for supper, later. I won’t be quite gone home for a bit. Order yourself a King-
Size, and also a diet cola, one we both like. I’ll know you by that, there. The one by the
statue of the Little Lion, long-gone, that smells worse than his cigars ever did."
"And if I’m late, young one, it won’t be your fault.”
The boy smiled. “There you are, Maman. You do remember, a little bit more. See you in
a bit, by the Monolith on Church-Hill. Smile when you can, but grieve when you should."
"That’s the bravest thing in the world, you know."
