make a copy of the combination of the colors, shading, lighting, and lineart together, then paste it as a full layer. then grab a blur tool and blur the whole thing, making it blurry but not making it a smudge. then reduce the layer's opacity to like 20-25% and that's it!
make sure to not include the background colors here, just the character's, otherwise it gets muddy xD
