I definitely do really like Lizardfolk in particular! I had this Lizardfolk Barbarian fellah named Sleyvas, big ol' lizzy who used a greatsword in combat. He was really fun! And he was an older fellah so if I ever revisited the character some day, I'd probably play one of his daughters, haha!
Also Lizardfolk definitely deserve to be way big and way strong but ahhh >.<
But yeah, as to big ladies, that's definitely my go-to. Even my Dwarf lass, Sigrina is short in height but definitely very strong and stout and anyone who says she is little would probably get punched in the gut.
Otherwise though, I like being a giant Tiefling or Half-Orc lady, because, well, I'm a big lass IRL and I like being that way!

oh dude generational character play is great for rp n stuff omg. Like if the campaign/gameworld has a good continuous universe or whatever the younger character can talk about stuff their parent or grandparent told em n stuff which can be fun or the dm can drop cool hints that is more relevant to the player/character. Is great.
also lol it's kinda funny how 90% of my characters are big muscle mountains, but my one lizardfolk character (a poison dusk) was this tiny Small 2'6" thing who is an absolute little gremlin. They're almost more like the party's mascot or pet cuz she's so animalistic n doofy. She's technically "adopted" (like a "can we keep it?" pet deal) by the party's ratfolk and the first night she spent with the party she basically ate one of the shoes of the one human in the party (only guy who wears shoes lol). Am a smol menace.
Oh yeh. Dwarves make up for their lack of height "size" in width n density xD one of their greatest qualities
same, just replace tiefling with any animal-like race n half-orc with full-orc (most of my rp campaigns have either been in non-dnd systems or homebrews so DM allows for a lot of options :3)
but big ladies rock xD my first tiefling was freakishly tall cuz in Pathfinder she got the Fiendish Sprinter Feat so her legs were freakishly long for my interpretation of it. DM punished her a bit (for the funnies, we had a good time xD) when we went underground and encountered a gnome or goblin village where she struggled to walk around cuz they kept walking between her legs (she was a very modest/shy/chaste cleric type) and randomly tugging at her long dress skirt cuz she kept getting in the way xD couldn't move very well in their small houses cuz her goofy legs just didn't allow her to crouch that low comfortably lol

That all sound so rad! Especially your Lizardfolk, I can imagine that she would be the terror but also the mischievous little thing that manages to save the party in all kinds of unexpected ways.
I'm a big fan of Warhammer: Fantasy, and I've literally read a number of the Gotrek and Felix books so anything to do with fantasy Dwarfs is generally a-okay with me. I've even had a few non-Dwarf characters who were raised by Dwarfs because it's totally fun.
That story reminds me a bit of a Fighter gal of mine named Rhea Arquetius: big ol' Hungerseed Tiefling Fighter lady. I'm pretty sure her canon height was in excess of 8' (would not have minded her being Large-sized at all) and she was just a big and friendly gentle giant lady who was lots of fun to play.

she isn't the best for combat (can hit easy, but doesn't do much damage), but she has helped the party a lot outside of that since she's basically a bloodhound (+8 Investigation & Adv. on Perception based on scent)
The machine of WHF Dwarves is so dang cool. I'm more partial to 40k, but I won't deny WHF has a cool setting with a good design for each race/faction. Also adopted by dwarves is like top tier "raised by other species" origins. I'm partial to tiefling or other fiendish/monstrous species raised by more "mundane" races (eg humans, dwarves).
Oooo~ got that good oni blood! Gots ta be 9ft at the minimum xD
When you're a big scary monster compared to normal humans, it's kinda fun just playing a big ol gentle giant, specially with a good dm who has at least some of the nps not know what to do around a big scary creature lol
