In hindsight, being abandoned to death by Shredder, being saved by the turtles, and going over to their side as a form of retaliation towards the former was the best thing that could have happened to Bebop and Rocksteady, seeing everything that happened to them after this decision.
Making new friends, attaining redemption, reconciling with their families, building themselves a new, better life...
