Continuing my series of anthro MLP statues that serve as monuments to those who's efforts helped strengthen kingdom and made Equestria and the world in general a better place to live in. Link
Not every statue that was created was of a pony. Perhaps one the important but also one of the enigmatic characters in Friendship is Magic was the alchemist sage Zecora. There was several characters that I really wanted learn more about, and at the top of that list was zebra who resided in the Everfree Forest.

I think the plaque on Zecora's statue could have said something other than just "Mysterious" since that could be considered demeaning to the character, even more so considering she's not a pony. Either way, I must say that I like how this statue portrays Zecora's appearance; great work by the way. :3
But at the same time if ponies only knew as much as the viewers did about Zecora I could see some saying. "It's such a pity. She did so much for us, and her efforts were much appreciated by the community. But in the end we never got a chance to really know her. Where she was from or why she settled down in that forest hut?"
That's something that some Equestrians might think about her, which has to do with curiosity and that's fine. But there is also the possibility that some inhabitants of Equestria see Zecora as what the plate says, someone mysterious who ended up receiving a statue like the rest of the Mane 6 and other ponies without a clear reason, which could lead to confusion in new generations to the point of questioning whether she deserved a statue or not. Don't get me wrong, what you say sounds good and I like it, but something I know very well is that history must be taught to each new generation, as well as about important figures, since otherwise what comes is oblivion and that's something to keep in mind.
I remember hearing a rumor that Lauren Faust meant for Zecora to be a real zebra from our world who stumbled into Equestria somehow, and thus gained quite a fair bit of intelligence. But I suppose Equestria Girls might've nixed that possibility. =P
It is a shame we never got to learn more about her. More fodder for the fanfic writers, I guess, for better or for worse.
