Young furries will never know just how life-changing it was back in February 1988 when Calvin and Hobbes ran the great transmogrifier pistol sequence with, first, Calvin becoming a chicken and then a tiny pterodactyl. So this is based on a panel from his first joyous post-transformation moment, before the plot really kicks in.
