Well, yes, but those lids usually have a hole to sip from (and a smaller one to let in air, 'cause physics/fluid dynamics =P), so I'm left wondering how her drink doesn't just keep sloshing up and out said hole! I've had trouble with that just in my car! Can't imagine what the jostling of a horse in full gallop would do!
Then again, if she keeps her arm/hand fairly level as she moves, she might keep the liquid still enough to avoid splashing. But I find it hard to believe she'd never spill a drop. Would take either magic or powerful technology to prevent it!

Ergh, this is a silly conversation anyway. I just don't know if there is an explanation I can accept, short of some magic or technology that dampens the motion of the liquid. But I'm not sure I care anymore. If she hasn't learned how hot liquids act inside a paper cup yet, she will soon. And it will probably ruin her morning commute. =P
