Considering he's a major character and part of the main four, I doubt it.
I understand your reluctance given the trend in somewhat recent times, but you should try to be a bit more positive. With most fantasy-styled anime these days, if there is a beastman of some sort that isn't part of the main party, they're usually just there for an episode or two and the group simply moves on. Other cases, like with Outbreak Company's lizardman Brooke Darwin, have them introduced and in a few scenes here and there, but they just get less screentime in general compared to the others. Lizard Priest from Goblin Slayer is a good example of a main party lizardman character where he's pretty much invincible in all the battle scenes. Not once during the entire first season was he ever in any real danger despite the odds the party faced.

Not to mention the original series Grimoire of Zero didn't have any beastmen die. It's a pretty light-hearted series, despite some violence. And it's practically made for beastmen fans. I love the way things are going with this sort of recognition lately. And Kudo has an actual personality rather than the typical stoic lizardman trope!
