I have no idea what this is. It looks like a grasshopper, and it moves like a grasshopper, so we're going to go with that. It was HUGE though! My goodness was it huge!

This is a gorgeous shot. I'm no expert, but I believe what you've got there is a juvenile (nymph) eastern lubber grasshopper, which is common in Florida.
