Silly title. Portugese Man-o-War that washed up on the beach with about 30 of his buddies. They just washed up and died quietly, and as they died, their little bubbles of life shrivled until there was nothing left.

I don't know... I think maybe, because I have a feeling that the sting might be caused by some sort of chemical. or I could be completely wrong :)

The sting is caused by sting cells on their tentacle. If the cells are alive, they may be able to sting.

How big was it? As a kid I always pictured those things as being fairly large, but looking at it on the sand, it doesn't seem much bigger than an ordinary jelly fish..
