So, a few months back, I discovered that David Petersen, the creator of Mouse Guard, had a Twitch channel that I started following. And a few weeks back he had an 'OnlineCon' where he alternated between doing his own work and chatting, and having times where he would get various other folks whose work he liked to show up and chat as well. (He's been running this for a couple of years now due to in-person conventions not happening.) Lots of interesting folks, from old school comics people (and you don't get much more old-school than Walt Simonson) more craftsy folks as well.
Anyhow, as part of the convention, he opened up commission slots for 'toned paper commissions', and I decided to get one, going with the usual 'Jenora, dancing' idea. His style does tend more towards the realistic animal forms, but that's fine; I always like seeing how different artists take to the same basic concept.
If I get another commission from him, though, I'll probably go with one of the mice from my 'Spelling the Cat' story, assuming I ever actually get it cleaned up and published. (The only part of that story that's online is the sequel's epilogue The Big Day. I really do need to get back to that. Among many other things.)

There were a lot of interesting folks there. Like Matt Smith (no, not the actor) who had done a series of 'Belgian Gnomes'... which can be pretty much only described as the Smurfs done up like vikings. He was discussing influences like Njáls saga (which is basically an Icelandic saga about cycles of revenge spiralling out of control) while showing off a print that has the 'All-Papa' muttering "This thing you now begin will have no end." while 'Gnomette' is putting on armour and responding "I did not begin it."
