Some fanart for the War Doctor - specifically for the War Doctor Begins story Lion Hearts. Took direct reference from Valetta’s actress for her appearance and think I got a pretty good resemblance on the first try - though the crimped hair that female Tharils had in their one TV appearance didn’t get included because it’s a nightmare on the fingers to draw.

This art took way too long… partially because I kept fucking myself up at different parts in the process (for example, I kissed the floor last Friday slipping on something I should have picked up earlier, hurting my knees, arms, and nose in the process) and overloading myself with different things. Thankfully, I was able to get the line art done and my friend  fizzymacaroni was willing to cover the process of flat colors and texturing. I finished the lighting/shading and here we are!

 fizzymacaroni I think this is the first time i’ve fully flatted for nvz here, the picture was my idea because I really loved Lion Hearts and wanted to see Valetta and the Doctor together bc i love them. im a little concerned if i made a mistake on the lips but i was referencing actual photos of Marilyn Nnadebe (who voice acted Valetta in the story) and all i did after color picking was making it duller for the lighting…if anyone has feedback of how i should handle that in the future kindly let me know
