I was intrigued by Zmei’s back story and design! He’s a cold and calculating strategist, but he also super stylish! I could easily pictured him on a ship with his hair blowing in the wind. I also gave him a rapier because I figured this “captain-like” pose suited him.

The rest of the animation is meant to be symbolic rather than literal. I tried to visually represent the stormy mind of the man they call “The Sea Serpent”.
