Godzilla, Gorgons, and Werewolves: All have had so many crappy remakes, parodies, sequels that some people sell stuffed animals of them.
Swamp Thing: Not really serious to begin with, he's actually got a Saturday morning cartoon show and action figure line.
Predators: Alien vs. Predator? Hello? Christ, there's a webcomic called "Alien Loves Predator" (Not what it sounds like.)

...and they've been used in commercials for breakfast cereal. AND there's a zombie character in "Ugly Americans"....
Look, I'm not saying that this is a bad thing. It's simply the natural life cycle of the movie monster. I can guarantee that back in the day, Frankenstein and Dracula were both considered genuinely scary and hated as "a corrupting influence on kids." Then they have the endless sequels and Vs. movies (Frankenstein and the Wolfman), where it gets to the point that they are parodied into a joke state. Like whine, you then give it a few years (and maybe some decent remakes) to age, and it takes it's rightful place as the lovable and revered icon of horror.
It happened to all the monsters from the 30's to 50's, and right now it's happening to the horror villains of today.
Watch, years from now Freddy and Jason will be right up there with the Mummy and Drac. Meanwhile, they'll be in the process of selling Jigsaw doll beanie babies at Toys'r Us.
