That's what he gets for being a thief^^
Thinking about it everyone in this story got what they deserved
The first guy looked to have worked long and hard to find this gold and now he has complete control over it and even ended up with several servants to tend to him
Those who tried to slay a dragon that, as far as we know, wasn't a threat to anyone ended up serving him instead
And lastly this guy who was foolish enough to think he could get away with stealing from this dragon's horde ended up adding to it
Whether this was intentional or not it's very nicely done! *thumbsup*

Forget trying to slay the dragon or steal from him, it seems like the only way you could successfully leave this place is if you intend on taking nothing but memories and leave nothing but footprints.
And even then, the dragon might still decide to turn you into a kobold!
Question, then: does he need companionship? Because that seems like the best outcome of the choices available to me, if possible.
