Day 2 - Asia - Amur Tiger 🐯💜
For the second day of Vulnerable Animals Week I chose the Amur Tiger, also known as the Siberian Tiger 💜 I chose the sub-theme "Mist" for this halfbody, as I wanted to try a different style for clouds/smoke 💜 This is actually the first time I've ever painted a tiger and boy, was it fun 🥰

This tiger is native to the Russian Far East and Northeast China. Approximately 350-400 adult Siberian or Amur tigers are left in the wild, with 95% of these individuals inhabiting the forests of the Russian Far East, where they play a critical role in both the ecosystem and local culture.

Major threats to the survival of the Amur tiger are poaching, habitat loss, and illegal hunting of ungulates, which are tigers' main prey. Because they increase access for poachers, roads are another important threat to the Siberian tiger.
