Hmm... From what I can tell is where the kid is at, I get the feeling that in this world there is this conflict going on, and during the fighting like in all wars the town and its people were caught in the crossfire. And well after one of the forces was forced to retreat, and the victorious side then set up a FOB in or nearby the town. And he's there because he was curious or more interested in seeing all of the equipment like the fighters or whatever she is working on.
BOOM BOOM BOOM
The tremors had increased so much that the tiny boy felt like someone was punching him squarely in the stomach. His balance swayed as the earthquakes nearly knocked him off his feet; his skeleton had turned to jelly as their resonance grew. He didn't need eyes or ears to know the macro giantess was returning to her place of work. Her rumbling shook him to the core. To be a fragile bug-sized human out here in the macrofur world floor always meant one thing to specks like him: certain death. Those merciless paws, larger than towns, would flatten him unawares, and that would be the sad end of his hopes and dreams. The boy scrambled to the nearest shelter, not caring that it was no safe haven, nor even a building, as he clambered over a gaping hole in the strange 'girder-reinforced' walls that stored 'strange earth-crawler vehicles' in the far darkness. The living mountain boomed by, as a strong gust of wind was stirred up by her mere motions. Something as unremarkable as walking, was an event, a storm, to him.
BOOM BOOM BOOM
She returned and resumed the task at hand. Grunting as parts of impossible size and density to an insect were forced back into position. Most humans would be horrified at the sight. The wolfess giantess was unreal in both scale and strength. For the boy? No, he wasn't afraid as he peered out into the macrofur world: this massive wolfess was not only a majestic sight to behold but also a soothing, comforting one. He enjoyed watching her work - it was the closest an insignificant mite like him could ever be to belonging in her larger-than-life world. She'd never notice him, she could crush him and not even register his presence. The boy wouldn't even be after an afterthought if killed. Yet he watched her contently, often daydreaming he were that wolfess's assistant, and passing up the tools to her that she often struggled to find whilst heavily engrossed in her latest solo project. He longed to be noticed one day. He wanted to useful and not a freeloader. He wanted... to belong.
