When we last left the different groups that had been invited to the unidentified island, they had each been returned to their different circumstances to ponder the choice placed before them. All of them, in one fashion or another, cared deeply for the oceans and the animals that inhabited them. After being told of the dire future that awaited what they held dear, which among them are willing to sacrifice the birthright of their species for a cause larger than any of them?
As Zero Day arrives and civilization shudders with the uncertainty introduced by aliens who don't seem to hold humanity's best interests in particularly high regard, a whole other tail begins beneath the vast oceans of the Earth. As Children of the Egg and the aliens that have introduced themselves as guides play merry hell with the social and technological order of the world, a new cast of characters is introduced and given a chance to understand and protect the haphazardly explored depths critical to all life on Earth.

This story takes place at the same time as my story "A New Purpose" and within the wider world of the Zero Day series. It won't be required to read those to know what is going on, but it will certainly help!

I'm glad you enjoyed my attempt to portray different cultures after some research on my part. I am sorry that it seemed repetitious at times though! I tried to avoid all the different groups rehashing the same things over and over, but it seems I wasn't as successful as I'd thought. Which themes did you find that overlapped?
I've finally got through all of your work. Please keep going, I love your ideas and world, it really speaks to me. I hope one day you also have the time to return to Prithvi, that ending really left me wanting more.
The way you write emotion and loss is incredible, the level of detail is immaculate. It feels like a crime that I got to read all this without paying anything. Thank you for writing.

Thank you very much for having the saintly patience to read through my enormous story! It must have been quite the adventure to read it from the very beginning over a shorter time span than the years it took to write.
I am very happy you liked the detail and emotion that I've invested into the story. If you do feel particularly guilty, I will (whenever I get my ass moving) be releasing a published version of "A New Purpose" that has been significantly revised and will include unreleased artwork of the dragons.
As for Prithvi, I do think that I will return to that world. When, or in what form that takes, I could not give you an answer that you could rely on at this point though, I'm afraid. As my very first story, ever, I would like to revise "On Colonizing" more than anything to close the defects in the plot. With hindsight, I think it clearly shows that I had changed my mind what kind of story it was going to be halfway through it.
Thanks again for your kind words, and I hope you have an awesome day.

I loved it a lot, honestly, it was a joy to read. I'll pick up the published version when you get around to it, I'd love this in paper. Take your time returning, too. I really like Zero Day as a setting, so there's no rushed feelings on my end to return, either. I'm excited to learn more about all the shenanigans the Dreamers and their cetacean friends will get up to, as well as getting more perspectives from the CoTE.
