Look, for all his soft and fluffy adorability, and incompetence in the use of his abilities a lot of the time, little Reilly is still a vampire. And vampires have needs, like a taste for blood. Even seeing something barely five feet tall coming out of the dark and showing his maw and teeth, eyes aglow, might agitate someone.... or turn them on.
