Recently, SJ Tucker and I realized that Blur's Song 2 makes a great lounge song, and we decided to cover it. This is just me bored at work again, using my shitty computer mic to sketch out an idea. I had to be kind of quiet, so blame the weird vocal dynamics on that :P
Sooj, if you get to see this, let's talk soon about what works and how we want to arrange this :D

Holy CRAP, husky!
Tell me exactly what you did on this vocal that is different, because this is one of the best vocals I've EVER heard from anybody. You say you were at work and had to be quiet? It hasn't been doctored, that is your natural pitch pretty casually recorded? What's the mic and recording chain?
I'm not sure you know that many heavy rock vocalists actually aren't putting out a lot of sound? Like Brian Johnson in AC/DC- it's a carefully shaped tone but it's nothing like full volume, the mic acts as a microscope.
Now I have to try something else using the same principle, except I can't sing that much :)

-glomps- thanks z^^z
I dunno what I did differently... I did have to be quiet, not just because of work, but also so that I wouldn't peek with the mic, so some of the louder bits I just leaned back... but otherwise, yeah, that's my natural pitch :P
Mic and recording chain? I'm not sure what that means. It's the built-in computer mic into Audacity, and EQ'd a bit :3
My parents are actors, and I do it, too; I grew up learning how to project. :D
