Lately I was also thinking, what if the brain is actually a fungi, evolved to pilot our flesh and bones? Because scientists figured out how fungi and plants communicate with each other, for survival. And there is a fungi called cordyceps, which literally controls the minds of insects once they are infected, until they die and then the fungi grows out of their dead body and spreads more. Basically a mini zombie apocalypse which keeps the insect population under control especially for the numerous ones (like ants in a jungle).
Really, watching documentaries is spookier than watching horror movies. And I love it.
