The sun was slowly setting at the horizon, bathing the city in orange rays. Izzy the orange buizel was doing his new super hero job as Itty Bitty, the size shifting sidekick.
The orange furred pokemon recently got into the hero business and things weren’t easy for Izzy. KD, the buffed gray wolf was his trainer and boy he was a spartan. Sometimes he wondered if he wasn't training him to be mister buizel universe.
The heroic gig wasn’t giving him a slack either. All those bad guys who needed to be cut down. The number of people who had to be rescued from villains and catastrophes.
The rookie hero was having it rough, with a lot of things to learn…
“Hey Izzy! Shift’s over, let’s get some dinner before we go home.” Shouted a superhero wearing protective goggles and a dark blue costume.
Bouncing Bear was today’s teacher as KD had to do some damage reports. So the muscled size shifting gray wolf entrusted his sidekick to his rebounding friend and colleague.
Izzy joined him as they walked down the streets. Today was calm and that was pretty rare.
In this city where anything could happen. Rabbit with giant vacuums, fox transforming people into anything, people randomly getting shrunk or grown. Whatever you can think about will happen here and having a slow day was a luxury.
“What do you take kiddo?” The overweight bear asked, as they both stood in a food court.
“Chicken burrito and red beans.” He simply answered as he was currently a little lost in his thoughts.
Surprised, Bouncing Bear asked back “Huh? You sure you don’t want burgers or hotdogs? it’s my treat, you know.”
“Yeah, KD wants me to pack up with proteins.” The buizel explained, looking at his slim body.
The brown furred grizzly joked. “Another buffed and caped hero incoming.” He wanted to add something but their communicator wrist blared an urgent message.
A professional tool given to any hero on the beat to communicate between each other and mostly the HQ.
“Attention all heroes! The green bandit has been sighted in town. Everyone must be on high alert. Off duty superheroes must get back to their posts!” The voice announced.
“We can’t even make a takeaway! Those villains don't respect anything!” The brown furred bear complained before he led his temporary sidekick back on their watching position. Izzy took BB’s hand as he inflated and made several jumps on the street and bounced to the top of a skyscraper.
Both of them started to watch around, trying to spot the wanted villain.
“Who exactly is this green bandit?” Izzy asked his teacher.
“A green kangaroo. He’s making his way to the top of the supervillain list with impressives forfeits. Wherever he goes, he only leaves ruins and buildings empty of their richness.” The bear explained, a little like someone telling a scary story around a campfire at night.
And of course the blue clothed hero Buizel was a little scared. “How is he doing this?” He asked, knowing your foe was a good way for a superhero to defeat them.
“He must be really strong or have fantastic ESP powers to do this.” Bouncing Bear wasn’t reassuring his sidekick.
The buizel swallowed. “I hope we won’t stumble on him. I don’t feel ready to fight him.”
The blue clothed bear laughed. “Don’t worry kiddo. If this crook shows his ugly green snout, I’ll flat him on the pavement and add him to my tapestry!”
“I hope you’re not speaking about me, gentlemen.” A voice erupted behind the two superheroes. Both of them turned to see, two giant eyes covered by a bandit mask just above a green snout, piercing them with their gaze.
“Go on with your capestry thing. You’re actually giving me an idea.” The green bandit was actually a roo… As big as the skyscraper they were on.
Wasting no time, the bear jumped on the wall and inflated to rebound on it. Bouncing fast as he aimed for the giant head which he hit.
“Why you little!” The big Kangaroo growled as he waved his arms around trying to catch or swat the round grizzly.
“Too slow! Maybe if you weren’t so big, you could catch me!” The bear taunted as he bounced on the giant’s snout. “I can do this the whole evening.” He then jumped from it and bounced on the street, planning to give him a hit on the chin. But suddenly his ascension after the bounce was suddenly stopped.
Not a big deal, he’ll just bounce back but when he did, he encountered the obstacle again and had a clear view of it.
It was a big green paw getting closer to the ground which made the bear bounce back and forth several times before he got completely pinned under it.
“Gotcha!” The green bandit exclaimed as he stomped the ball bear on the street. “I must say, you’re making a great stress ball.”
Squished, Bouncing Bear activated his communicator wrist. “Itty Bitty! A little help here!”
“I’m on it!” Answered Izzy. A hundred feet above the bear, the buizel was on his way to deliver a blow to the giant bullying kangaroo.
He jumped on the green body while he was busy with BB and was climbing his way to the head.
“Here I go!” Having reached his objective. He opened his mouth before biting onto the soft flesh of the green ear.
The green bandit definitely felt it and screamed so loudly, all the windows around exploded.
Sadly, he didn’t release his pressure on Bouncing Bear, on the contrary it increased. Even worse, with a swift movement of the arm he caught the buizel with a mouth still full of green fur.
“You flea, I’ll just!!!” He was so angry he couldn’t find his word as he was pinching the orange furred hero between his fingers.
“Use your power, Itty!” Screamed BB at his communicator.
“I can’t, it’s…” Izzy tried to answer but the bear interrupted him.
Insisting. “Do it now! Sizeshift!” He screamed even louder
“Alright, here I go!” The buizel focused, feeling something opening in his heart and spreading in his whole body as he activated his power.
“Where did he go?” Asked the giant green roo.
A couple of minutes passed where nothing happened. Beside Bouncing bear having been properly flattened and being grinded on the road.
“What are you doing Izzy? I told you to use your power!” He asked as the situation hasn’t budged of a single inch.
“I did!” The buizel whined. “But that didn’t help…”
“What?” The now disk shaped bear managed to activate the video feed on his google, seeing by the camera attached to his sidekick communicator. The buizel, in the middle of a giant green forest. He immediately understood what happened. “Don’t shrink! Grow and give him a giant beating.”
“I can’t! I haven’t learned how to do that!” The pokemon sidekick explained, trying to not cry.
“Wait!” BB just realized one thing. “Does that mean you can't even grow back to your normal size?” He asked, scared of the answer.
The buizel confirmed his worries. “Yes… What do we do now?” Izzy desperately asked.
Bouncing Bear sighed. “We wait for KD…”
