Ah, coffee snobbery! I can hardly bring myself to touch drip brewed coffee these days. Of course, the real good stuff is cold pressed!

We really only looked into the press initially since we'd had 2 drip makers break in 2 years. We decided to get something non-mechanical and after doing the research it sounded like the coffee would taste better any how. And maaaan does it ever! We'll never go back.

Amen to that! When I lived with my old roommate, he had what we called a "French lift" that functioned the same, but instead of pushing the grounds to the bottom where they can continue to change the coffee's flavor (negatively, if too long!), it lifts the grounds up out of the coffee so you can leave it in the glass container and not worry about overbrewing it. In any case though, it's so much better that way.
