The sky above the city is bright blue, peppered with puffy white clouds...
... Or at least it was, until a dark shadow loomed overhead. So vast, so very enormous it covered the sky like a blanket. It slowly moved across the city skyline, blocking out the sun, pushing the clouds aside like they were nothing, and shrouding the entire city under darkness.
But what was this thing? Was it night time already? It couldn't be. There was no pretty orange sky to transition into the coming night.
Was it an eclipse? It couldn't be. The moon's shadow could only cover the sun, not the entire sky along WITH the sun.
Was it the moon itself, or maybe an incoming meteor? Well... not exactly...
Was it an alien ship? ... I'll get back to you on that one...
But then came the booming giggles echoing across the sky, the moons, or rather PAIR of moons it seemed, appearing to jiggle in anticipation. One with enough distance might've noticed that those moons, or meteors, or whatever they were might've noticed a few telltale signs: 1) They had no craters or any rough features. They were smooth and shiny. 2) They appeared to be attached to something... something big, alive, and with a sense of humor. 3) Moons and meteors... don't... giggle... or jiggle...
Anyone who guessed it was a pair of moons or a meteor would've been metaphorically right. They may not have been moons, but the city was certainly getting "mooned". They may not have been meteors, but soon enough, in place of the city would be a pair of impact craters fused together...
But anyone who might've guessed it was an alien ship would've been right... if they removed the word "ship"...
Commission for
. Here we have the massive alien gal Lis'eall, better known as "Pheobe", making her presence know to the puny Earthlings beneath her.
Oddly, I don't think I do enough macro scenes like this one.
Enjoy!
