I decided to go the "Clean up the current logo" route... And I went to the original project file to find I had already done it a few months ago but never exported it... Wow I'm an idiot haha. So yeah it turns out I already did the thing I set out to do.
So here it is the 2021/22 version of the logo featuring slightly different block letters that are better aligned with each other, slightly modified colors and removal of the highlight gradient for a slightly flatter look.
