Darrell’s troubles with the angry tiki isn’t over yet.
Darrell managed to make it across the rocking bridge after taking the tiki’s valuable ruby. But it doesn’t end there. The tiki has another trap ready for the cocky kangaroo.
As Darrell made a fast dash back into the jungle, thinking he got away, something unexpected happened. The tree vines came alive. Just as Darrell took notice, the vines quickly grabbed him in a flash. The thick vines whipped around his limbs and tail. He tried with all of his might to fight them off, but they were too strong and too many. The vines tied his legs together and lifted him off the ground. Darrell was now hanging upside down as he struggled. He dropped the ruby, and his bag fell off his back too. He tried to reach for his knives, but the vines wrapped around his arms pulled them back. Then other vines unbuckled his knives and let them fall to the ground too. Now Darrell had no weapons. But he wasn’t giving up. He continued to struggle in the vines grip. But then the vines began carrying him back towards the direction of the tiki. Darrell knew he was in big trouble and needed to get away fast. But the more he struggled, the tighter the vines stretched his limps.
The vines continued to carry the helpless kangaroo towards the sinister tiki. They even mocked him by waving the ruby in front of him. They got the jewel back. Darrell felt annoyed and angry. He hated when his enemy had the upper hand over him. But now Darrell was hanging upside down over the water 100 feet below. He could see the jagged rocks just below him. Falling could impale him, or the impact could kill him. Even if he missed the rocks, falling in the rough water could seriously injure him. Darrell wasn’t afraid to die. But he still did not want his mission to end this way. His whole journal would’ve been for nothing if he died so soon. But how was he going to get out? The vines wouldn’t loosen up. They could drop him to his death at any moment. Or they may even take him back to the angry tiki, and who knows what evil plans it has in store for him. But either way, Darrell knew he was about to be punished in some painful way.
