Really unique idea that I never thought of in my 30 years of playing. I have had players face their old characters as the villain, face descendant of the person they saved, had them fight their reveneants of their previous characters (my favorite), had the merchants they loved betray them with every object sold to them going to the big bad, but never had them geezer it up against the same big bad again. A pretty fun idea.

Thanks! Too often have I played a character from lv 1 to 17+ only to have to tuck them away in a folder to collect dust. I've personally wondered whatever happened to them once they saved the world (or failed, as that has happened too XP ).
