Oops time for one of the more boring but also pretty helpful for setting up contexts within the manatear.
Wardstone! one of the wonderous materials of the manatear, does things!
Also one of the materials that humans use for anti-magic wards themselves, but they are quite happy to use pure wardstone in their devices that even the generally wardstone tolerant spellfluxed are just overtly repelled by.

If you are interested in keeping up with my work and seeing me stream live, I art stream at https://picarto.tv/Adalore and I announce every stream at https://twitter.com/Adalore1 along side general rambling.

Additionally if you want to support my art in general, my patreon is at https://www.patreon.com/Adalore where I run non-commission based projects and justify their continued operation.

if you managed to find enough of it it could feasibly protect you, it wouldn't reduce the build up so far because it is effectively on radiation rules. A random low quality pylon or a lantern won't be enough. it'd have to be proper ff14 "frozen explosion" crystals that no spellfluxed could get near.
Ah, so if you got enough to protect yourself from it somehow, and managed to lug it around, then you have a different problem of being unable to enter places where spellfluxed live as you are practically a walking radiation hotspot. This leads to another thing though, this implies theres places in the tear that spellfluxed cant go. So this leads to a double question: since you compared it to radiation, is there any form or protective clothing for spellfluxed, and would non spellfluxed be able to build a colony in these "dead zones" without exploding violently and becoming spellfluxed?
The manatear itself is just too nasty for non-magical beings to make a living. It's on par with the work needed to maintain a research station in the Antarctic. So you can BE there actually fairly safely with the right tools but it wouldn't be self sufficient. There are treasure hunter teams that do operations in the manatear aswell for artifacts.
Spellfluxed can tolerate a decent deal of wardstone which is why they can use it, it's just to get enough raw wardstone that prevents magic rad buildup that is enough that Spellfluxed can't tolerate.
Generally a lot of the writing in this setting is mostly on a "Yes, but" or "Yes, And" basis, so I won't have many strict "No" situations.

Just imagined how to weaponize it (given someone would want to ressort to such use)
Take a lot of highgrade wardstone, reduce it to powder and use whatever mean (flying machine, missile, trojan, etc....) to spread it in the airs
local spellfluxer would certainly love a constant tiny exposure of it I guess, especially if (unlinke pooltoy) they need to breath
heck, give you say as wacky the tear is, there are still politic and conflict, wouldn't it be used for poisoning someone?
(unless you need a really big noticeable of amounth warstone, and anythign lower would just lead to a very unpleasant diarhea )
