This more recent drawing didn't have any real inspiration, other than wanting to draw a cool samurai-ish character (and I think a self challenge to draw a topless female character without drawing attention to the breasts).
The laser sword did come out of me not wanting to bother drawing a proper sword though.
And in hindsight the flame effects do look kinda cheap.
Surprisingly enough, not inspired by Usagi Yojimbo.
