a random thing you could try is makeing a simple 3d background for locations you use alot. and then you could just drop your charicters in where you want and the background is already done

Thanks but I wasn't asking for solutions, and anyway attempting to add 3D *anything* to my art process is bound to be the complete opposite of simple.

I had to look up to see if Jules Feiffer is still alive, he is!
He's 93 now.
I saw a collection in a book of a lot of his cartoons.
He could be quite the philosopher at times.
