OH. MY. GOD.
Words can not describe what these pictures make me feel. I got them over a week ago and every time I see them I just want to laugh, and cry, and roll around on the ground from how giddy they make me feel! The best way I can think to describe it is that it feels like I'm seeing 'me' for the first time.
This is actually an idea I had nearly a year ago as I was trying to process my own gender identity. It became this representation that I felt could reflect how I really want to see myself - No matter how feminine/masculine I make myself appear, the other will always be present in some way and whatever I see in the mirror is still me. I know it probably sounds silly and I'm definitely not doing the description justice, but it's still just something that helped me understand it a bit better. Thus, the whole concept became one that was very near and dear to my heart and I spent a lot of time hmming and hawing over which artist to commission the idea from.
Something about
ariannafray_pr's style just clicked for me and I knew she'd be the best artist for the job. I can say, without a doubt, that it was a brilliant choice. She's an amazingly skilled artist, she was an amazing and caring person to work with, and she brought forth so much emotion with these! Her little touches really made these pictures so much better, and I love the amount of care that she put into even the background details - everything in these pictures seems to have a little bit of me!!!
I could probably go on and on and on so I'll cut it short here. But I have to say: These two pictures mean the world to me!
