The backround suits the theme and the characters have a nice smooth texture. But I don't like the way you shaped them....sorry...

Nice.

Shading on the wings is a little busy and distracting though, imho. Also shading on the tail doesn't seem to match. Resolve those two issues and it's all win, (imho, of course).
