The Guardian is the biggest tree on Fairy island, dwarfing even the ones found in the Giant forest. It is also a bridge, a trading post, a watchtower and a frontier village all at once. Named so because it "guards" the south of the island - any monsters that tries to cross the river from the Dark forest has to go through Guardian first. Around 3000 years old, the massive tree's humble beginnings are lost to time and it is believed to have traits that originate both from the Dark forest and the Giant forest. As despite its "normal" appearance, there are several mutations that allows it to reach such a size without withering or collapsing.

Fairies coming back from the Dark forest trade their goods and rest here, while those getting ready to venture forth buy their supplies and prepare themselves. It is preferred by many to the Warrior Citadel or the Watch tower because it is not controlled by the fairy military and is therefore a lot more lax in protocol and regulations. It is currently under authority of the star fairy Solaris and the tree's health periodically overlooked by the arch fairy of nature Edoru.
