The Tantalus is most of the time the First Assault ship of the Void Born to made Planetfall. It can take off with 120 Tones of Cargo, may it be Tanks, Triple A Vehicles, Supply Material or Infantry. Often called "The flying Brickwall", his main Objectiv is simple. To land enough Troops for securing a LZ for the Bigger, more valuable Ships like Planetary Dreadnaughts or the new, more heavily armed "Gladiator"-Class Invasion Ships. Tantalus Crafts have for Ships of their Size a heavy Armour and are armed with 16 Missiles qho are packing quite the punch! It also have some heavy Cannons, most of them around the Cockpit, wich allows it to give supressing Fire on everything that survived the Missile barage.

This is also it's biggest Weakness next to its low Atmospheric speed. It is only armed with 1 rear facing Rotary Blaster Cannon, wich is quite often next to useless against heavy Fighter resistence. In case of being shot out of the Sky, the Cockpit can detach itself from the rest of the Craft and can then, as a now much lighter Craft, try to escape. This is maybe not a good news to everyone in the Cargohold, but experinced Pilots are more worthy for the Imperial Navy than some Army Troopers....
