Ygrexa, the Black Dragoness (Mortal Form)
"Mortal lives are so fleeting. Fragile. Nothing more than cheap and idle playthings to discard once broken, or crunchy snacks. I'm not opposed to either." -Ygrexa
Cruel. Wicked. Untrustworthy. Even by the standards of other black dragons, Ygrexa is known best for her cunning cruelty, ruthlessness, and her quickness to sell out and undermine even one of her own. Though dragon law prohibits she slay her own kind, she has her own ways of moving up the hierarchy and to /relative/ political power within the Claws of Veeshan, namely her ability to undermine and blackmail her peers. It was she who drove Icevenom into self-exile, for she discovered and threatened to reveal Icevenom's secret- that he was not a 'pure-blooded' dragon, and his father was a wingless and flightless lesser wurm- a secret that would forever earn him ridicule in the cruel and unforgiving society of dragons. Since the day of her hatching, Ygrexa has and always will be out for herself. Her ferocious outlook has made others of her kind both fear and revile her, but none would dare confront her.
Other than being a wickedly cunning individual, Ygrexa is also a skilled necromancer, binding the bones of the fallen to perform various duties and tasks for her. Such a dark gift only continues to make others fear and avoid her, but that is simply how Ygrexa likes it. She needs no allies. Needs not the approval of others. So long as she breaks no laws, none can truly stand in her way. However, Ygrexa is still 'honorable' enough to never raise the bones of slain dragons or dragonkin. Even she sees the Dragon Necropolis as a revered and ancient place and such a landmark is not meant to be tampered with.
Ygrexa views mortals as expendable. Cheap servants or easy food meant to be picked and plucked as one would an apple from a tree. Regardless, even she has a mortal form- the form of a gnoll. This is mostly to spite Glexa, as the two dragons have differing views about the worth of gnollish kind. Whereas Glexa views the race as worthy and perhaps even interesting, Ygrexa views them as vermin meant to be extinguished, subjugated, or even eaten- or any combination of the three. It matters not to Ygrexa, for her mortal feminine form sways and 'lures' foolish gnolls to her service all the same.
Through subjugation, subversion, blackmail, and outright control, Ygrexa's steady rise to power continues to increase. Whether or not she has good intent for the rest of her kind is unknown.
