So I didn't know what a kirin was until about a week ago. I bought a big bottle of beer with one on the front, and was amazed to learn of this half deer half dragon creature.
"You don't know what a kirin is?" chimes in my (not a furry) boyfriend. "What kind of a furry ARE you???" I don't know. So I hung my head in shame, etc. These guys would have been my favorite thing ever if I'd known about them when I was six. Hell, for the moment they're my favorite thing now. :D
Now, here is a kirin! At least, what I think a kirin would look like. He has reminded me how much I loooove pencil+Photoshop as a technique. I was without a scanner long enough that I got really -into- 100% digital painting, and then when I got a scanner again it was like "WOO NOW I CAN SCAN REAL MEDIA" and started doing the hardcore realmedia-only thing. Now I remember why I like mixing the two so much. It's been way too long.

I didn't know what one was either. I just that was a fancy logo on the beer bottle.
