When I painted the first image of the "Crow Eater" http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4727669 I took a short break to quickly scribble this image. I unconditionally needed a shot of his facial anatomy and at least one of his paws.
This image shows the ambivalence of the relationship between the Crow Eater and 'his' crows quite clearly but in a strange way.

"Avatar: The Last Airbender" was an ongoing cartoon drama on Nicklelodeon earlier in the decade. Have you never seen it? Spirits, elemental powers, a quest to end a hundred year long war and a search for one's place in the world. And a fair amount of humor and pathos. All three seasons have been out on DVD for a few years. Sorry for the obscure reference!
