Well I didn't mind Scarlet/Violet's story. Dare I say the stuff with Area 0 surpasses the story of Black/White in Gen 5. I never would've imagined a game where the professor is already dead by the time you meet them, which was actually their AI counterpart. It was nuts on my Violet playthrough.
I've heard it can be glitchy, and yeah gamefreak needs to spend more time developing the games rather than try to push them out every year before they're ready.
My only reason for not playing Scarlet and Violet is that the newer mons don't really appeal to me xD; I've put up a lot of designs I thought were bad but won me over or had a few irresistibly good ones...but gen 9 is where I finally drew the line xD;

Oh yeah, and there's plenty of pokemon that have always been obscure. I remember being so psyched to see venonat in a Scarlet and Violet trailer as they're one of my favorite pokemon but haven't appeared in a regional dex since Johto. In my research I also found other mons like shroomish, cacnea, kricketot, shinx, and more also haven't appeared outside their regional dex-slash-debut generation, which is kinda interesting in a way.
*checks* Gens 5, 6, and 7 have them unobtainable outside of breeding or transferring. I'm pretty sure SwSh has them in the DLC (which doesn't count to me because they're not in Galar itself) and for S/V...wow they actually are in it o.o And of course they're in Legends since it has all the gen four mons in it, I believe.
In Gen 5 White version, you can get a Shinx in White Forest.
In Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire Gen 6, you can get a Luxio post-game at route 118.
In Gen 7 Sun and Moon, Luxio could also be caught at Route 8 via Island Scan.
So technically, in Gens 5-7, you could get the Shinx line without transferring.

Yeah, and true, but a bit time consuming and you have to use a repel to ensure nothing else pops out. It really was, but at least it doesn't have an insanely huge hp, making it easier to fight, and doesn't have a disgustingly low attack-stat, making it more useful in battle (plus I think the design is a lot cuter).
Interesting question.
Very true but hopefully the fan's outrage made it clear that this sort of thing wouldn't fly. But I'm mostly curious as to how they'd go about with remakes, like if they'll try to incorporate the sequels into a post-game or something. That would be interesting!

Very true. Yeah they really didn't put a lot of plot into it, I even saw a video explaining that and showing how on its Bulbapedia page all stuff happens at the beginning and end of the game with very little middle. I'm actually curious about Calyrex at least but didn't want to have to spend money on the DLC.
Same with Sinnoh I feel and yeah. Plus a lot of alternate routes to explore or branching paths that lead to the same destination along routes, whereas modern games tend to just have the shorts be short and simple straight lines where any deviation leads to a dead end.
True, like Glittering Cave in Kalos having items and encounters. Very, just a whole lotta nothing, quite literally. A lot of these areas could've made for interesting routes or other areas to explore in the region though, instead of just being a bunch of big open areas with little to do.
Funny thing is even though she was nerfed by -10 attack stat, she still gets a +1 attack upon entering battle. Her Crowned Sword form is a Fairy/Steel, which is arguably one of the best typings in the game and is unlikely to be one-shot by anything, so you can do a Swords Dance on top of her already guaranteed +1 boost. It's nuts.
