Being the youngest adult in the family Aurora is often tasked with caring for hatchlings whenever she's not at work.
Being the youngest hatchling in the family, Lux takes it upon himself to tease his seniors, often by trying to apply Earth logic to Amkaryan practices.
Aurora usually engages in his playful banter, but it appears this time she's in a hurry and won't put up with it...
For context, Aurora is an Amkaryan Dragon and as such has a pouch inside her chest which is used to safely hold eggs, hatchlings and generally anything she wishes. It just so happens that such space is accessible only through the mouth and Lux loves pointing out how grotesque the practice of swallowing your children looks to the eyes of an Earth human, while on Amkarya it's nothing more than usual routine.
This actually makes Aurora quite embarrassed and Lux plans to milk the joke for as long as he can...
This is an extremely experimental piece I started all the way back in 2020. My goal was to find a good balance between painterly and comic-book styles and to this day I'm still puzzled by the result. Some parts look good, others look... pretty weird. Especially Aurora didn't come out exactly as I intended and has some kind of disney-esque appearance which I just can't place exactly.
Since then I improved significantly, but one thing I still like is the background, where I feel I captured quite well the feel of the golden grass fields of Amkarya.
