This is DDD in their undead state, referred to as DDD-V. Their fear of death, ceasing to exist more precisely, is what drove DDD, formerly a cyborg, into committing the criminal act of stripping themself off of their biological bodyparts in order to become a full robot, a Cypro Lich. Their former soul allowed them to easily rid themself from their own flesh, dissolving their body cells with ease. In a way they were uniquely well equip to go through this incredibly long and painful procedure. Their knowledge as a medic unit helped them out immensely as well. This practice is highly illegal on Riggtra, their home planet, so they live mostly in isolation today.
