Life has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs for Sebastian Mark McDonough, who prefers to be called by his middle name.
This young tiger spent most of his teenage years doing whatever it took to keep food on the table for himself and his heroin-addicted single mother. For a period of time, that involved performing sexual services for the horny males he found frequenting adult bookstores.
It was in a porn shop that Mark met art importer Joseph Russo. Russo lacked an heir to the family business, having lost his eldest son who had been murdered in a bar fight some years earlier. The wealthy lynx saw potential in Mark and decided to take on the younger male as an apprentice. Although he'd had no formal business training, McDonough processed an instinctive knack for dealing with people. He knew just how far he could push the suppliers he dealt with. He had the temperament to be ruthless when the situation called for it. He was firm with the employees who served under him, but never out-of-control as Russo's son, Salvatore, had been.
As Joseph Russo's right-hand man, it seemed certain that Mark would take control of the business one day. But when Russo passed away suddenly, his widow shut the company down without a care for the former employees, McDonough among them.
Jobless, and with his savings dwindling, Mark began to consider a return to prostitution. Then, a chance encounter with one of Joe Russo's former business contacts paved the way for the tiger's employment as a server in a very exclusive private club. Although the hourly wage is nowhere near as good as the one he earned while working for Russo, the tips are excellent.
Mark McDonough is a minor character in Long Division Book II: The Storm. The events which lead up to his working for Joseph Russo are told in that book.
S00T did a marvelous job of showing us Mark in the second phase of his career. Please visit Soot's gallery and check out the other excellent art waiting there for you.
