I know it's not strictly furry.. but hey xDD
So, I was inspired to make my own Chainmaille jewellry. So I searched for hours trying to find a supplier of jump rings which was based in the UK, and eventually I did! And they do loads of different kind of jump rings aswell (including; Gold filled, sterling silver, aluminium, copper, steel etc), and a they have a lot of other lovely shiny things =D
I have made at least 10 bracelets, mainly for practice. Some are crap, others are awesome! These 4 are some of my best ones, and I wear the Black/Silver one and the Purple/Black/Silver one most often. I have made other weaves as well btw, but these are the best ones imo. I've also made one for my friend, which I really liked, and sadly didnt take a photo of it before I gave it to her T.T aw well...
Top left: Black anodised aluminium rings, bright aluminium rings, Silver/clear glass rings and a antique silver plated toggle clasp (I love these clasps, they're awesome!) in a Byzantine variant weave.
Top right: Bright aluminium rings, green glass rings, with a trigger clasp in a Byzantine variant weave.
Bottom Left: Bright aluminium rings, Purple and Black anodised aluminium rings with a multi-strand clasp in a GSG Weave (which is basically two half persian weaves put together) my favourite chainmaille weave i've done/seen so far =D
Bottom Right: Bright aluminium rings, Red, Yellow and Orange anodise aluminium rings with a trigger clasp in a GSG Weave.
hey, what can I say, I am part magpie after all =P
Just to say, I'm still only practicing, so I still have a lot to learn, and therefore the quality of the finished piece isnt 100% great xDD there are a few rings which I havent closed properly etc >.> but that all comes with practice I suppose!

lol yeah =D before I saw the rings, I was thinking about using beads instead, I tried it, but it didnt work so well, but that's probably because I need to practice xDD but then I found the rings, which solved the problem. I'll try again with beads sometime though, because I want to try and incorporate semi-precious gemstone beads into it somehow (mainly because my mum want's a bracelet with tigereye beads in it xDD lol)
well, the only beads with holes big enough for the gauge of rings i'm using are pony beads, or large seed beads... they do give some good effects though, just not the effect i'm going for tbh... but I might make a bracelet with them and see what happens xD
But depending on the gauge of rings I would use, i suppose if you use a high enough (thin enough wire basically) gauge and use smaller beeds (about 4mm) then you -might- be able to thread the beads directly onto the rings... but it's a bit maybe... because the inside of the bead obviously is straight, and not round like the ring... but hey, worth a try I suppose xDD see what happens =3

lol sorry, they're not for sale... yet xDD I just dont think i'm good enough to sell them at the moment, plus i'm still experimenting with new weaves and clasps and things like that....
but I will be making a load more to sell at Confuzzled 2011 =3 and I might take commissions after that. Gives me a good few months to practice and come up with some new designs!

lol yeah, I know that feeling! you could try making the rings yourself however. There are a number of tutorials and how-to's which will show you how to make the coils of wire and how to cut them etc. But there are a lot of different techniques, so worth having a look around with google, or whatever you use as a search engine. I personally want to try the technique where a power-drill is involved. it looks easy, effective and not too expenisve if you find a cheap enough drill xD or if you've got one already; great!
