Hunts-in-Shadows watched her lively family with a protective eye, her perch upon the small table giving a well-enough vantage point to face out from under the balcony and into the rolling tundra beyond her property. The small wooden chair that was normally sat in was currently her footstool, and she grabbed the tankard by her side, taking a sip as she readjusted her bare feet, getting a little more comfortable as she enjoyed the festivities from her shade-covered refuge.
Her adopted son and daughter were playing a game they’d made recently, ‘Wolves and Sheep’, in which they’d chase all of the present adults about and pretend to hunt and capture them. Truly it was just a wild variation of ‘tag’, but everyone involved seemed to enjoy it, even the stoic vampire, ‘Auntie’ Serana, laughing with the children on occasion. The black khajiit wanted so badly to join in, but she sighed, placing her cup back down to the wooden tabletop and leaning back on a propped arm, absently giving her slightly extended belly a rub.
“Hunter, I’ve gotten everything ready for the trip.” A male voice called from inside. The werewolf turned her head to see the speaker, pleased to see Marcurio as he emerged from the house, loaded down with a few bags and fully dressed in his traveling attire.
“Are you sure you don’t want to go hunting with us? We’ll be gone for two weeks…”
“No, I really should stay home this time. It’ll do me some good to get some rest while the kids are away, and the house is quieter.” She assured the mage, watching as he set the bags down and turned to her.
“I’ll admit, I do worry. It’s been a few weeks since the last vampire attack. I worry... what if they’re up to something, especially if they find out you’ve not been able to change forms recently, or that you’re-”
“I’ll have Serana here,” she cooed, reaching for the man when he leaned over her, ”…and, Aela is supposed to arrive tomorrow. They’ll keep a good watch over me until you return.”
“Hrmm…I suppose I’ll let you convince me this time.” He gave a playful growl, nuzzling her face before pressing a kiss to her forehead. She idly fondled the metal pin on his shoulder, purring with content before giving him a nudge with her elbow. “Besides! Think of it as a boy’s trip! You’ll have Ghorbash and Kharjo with you; ya’ll can teach Blaise and Sophie everything they need to know about survival skills!”
“But, Sophie’s a girl.” Marcurio countered, turning just in time to see his adopted daughter tackle their friend Kharjo, who fell to the ground in purposeful manner.
“I’m gonna be a wolf like mama! Rrraaagh!” the small Nord snarled, biting onto the male Khajiit’s sleeve and giving it a few vigorous shakes with her teeth, causing the two of them to laugh in unison.
Marcurio turned back to see his wife wearing a humored smirk, and he couldn’t help but do the same.
“Point taken; especially considering their mother.” He teased, pulling the female close to him with a gentle tug, minding their growing addition to the family between them. “Can I get you anything while I’m away?”
Hunts-in-Shadows considered a moment, tapping her chin thoughtfully.
“A sweet roll, perhaps? I’m sure I can swear them off until you get back.”
“Of course, love. Maybe I’ll even bring one for both of you.” he murmured, laying a gentle hand along her abdomen.
“You promise?”
“I promise…if the kids don’t get a hold of them first”
More Skyrim! It's such a muse for me right now, I just love trying to develop my dragonborn into a fully-developed character. >u> As of Skyrim, pregnancy between khajiit and other races is neither confirmed nor denied, so I took the possibility and ran! I might do more of this concept (tbh I would love to, actually), as I also just like thinking of the social repercussions of mixed-race couples having children together, and how said couples must have to deal with the stigma (I'm pretty sure in Skyrim, Beastrace+non-Beastrace is considered taboo, but don't quote me on that); Werewolf non-withstanding, of course.

Ahh, yessss, all of the above named characters are aware of it at this point. However, nobody yet realizes that the kids found out on accident.
The adults have chalked it up to always joking and comparing Hunter to a wolf (considering her mannerisms...), and they think that the kids are just taking the idea and running with it.
I plan on expanding the idea in the future; there's plenty of shenanigans to be had, and I'm all about that kind of cheesy stuff.

Well, there would be no worry about Serana and Aela knowing that Hunts-in-Shadows is a werewolf, but I bet it was an interesting situation when Ghorbash and Kharjo found out about her lycanthropy. I can only imagine what sort of child she'll give birth to: 50% khajiit, 50% imperial, 100% werewolf.
Oh yeah no worries there; Serana and Aela knew instantly, based on scent alone, and I'd like to believe that Kharjo could kiiinnndaaa smell something was 'off', but didn't quite piece it together until he found out. Ghorbash found out in a fairly lackluster manner, but assuming he's a follower of Malacath, I'd imagine he was a little less tense about the whole 'affected by a Deadric Prince' situation than the average individual.
Ohoh, I'm also curious! I'm still not quite sure how I want to handle any children they have, but, werewolf kids sound reaaalllyyy interesting >u>

HHHHHHow dare you tempt me with this possibility!?
Adding to what you said; if you also consider that children take a majority of traits/race from the mother, its interesting to consider that only moms could potentially pass the lycanthropy, instead of a werewolf dad.
Crap, you’re really giving me a lot to think about over here...

That just makes me more curious; Is ‘werewolf’ considered a race in is own way, or just an affliction like vampirism?
Vampirism is considered a disease until it sets in after a few days, but I would imagine they couldnt bear children, considering they’re counted as the Undead at that point.
Werewolves though? I dunno...its just a really fun idea to theorize about, if nothing else (Im not greatly knowledged in Elder Scrolls outside of Skyrim, please forgive my ignorance).
