Alright… Now this is more like it. I am beginning to see myself actually USING this now… Quite a bit different from Photoshop, and I may just be deluded, but this new version may be more stable- it hasn't eaten any of my work… Yet.

I have two tablets- an Intuos 2, and Intuos 4. Pressure sensitivity (response) of Painter has ALWAYS been good, especially with the auto mapping velocity/ pressure curves. As far as I know, its the only software that does it well. The angle sensitivity is really great. This ENTIRE drawing was done with ONE tool- a plain old pencil, held sideways in my fingers for the shading process. Then I used Simple Water to blend out the grainy areas and get some nice wet edge effects. The 4 is definitely a better tablet, and it goes with me wherever I carry my laptop. The small screen is not the best to work on, but I did this sketch on it, and as long as the work doesn't get too big, it works pretty well. If I ever climb out of this hole, I'm going to get one of the 27 inch extension monitors for my Macbook. :)
