Jack-in-the-box

Jack attracted her. She heard his voice in the grinding of every gear, she knew there isn't enough room for him, Jack was cramped in the box, Jack can't distinguish space anymore, Jack merged with the air, rusty gears, damp, rotting tissues, that became part of him and Jack was tired of being something faceless, without flesh, inanimate. The wooden case of the box was cracked long ago, as a result of an old hit, and for many, many years through that crack Jack had been looking at an unchanging landscape. It was his only entertainment.

Don't open Jack's box, don't release him

It inhabits weak, weak-willed people to make it easier to control their actions. Most often his victims are children.
He realizes his own ambitions through the victims.
