I don't know what is Sasha's affinity, but since I was translating your story...no, let me rephrase that.
When using far-speaking spell, the mage who is casting the spell doesn't need to speak out during the conversation, right?
But wait...that's not true isn't it?
Ruus was speaking when he was asking where Teodor was.
So Sasha and Teodor was using a type of Air magic to communicate with mind?
I though Teodor was doing that, but if there is a phobia against mind-related magic......

Sort of.
For the long-range far-talking spell (earth), the mages do need to speak out loud. Only the mage hears the target, and only the target hears the mage. The resonance effect of Dacien's signature allows him to hear the distant target, if he is within ten feet or so of the mage or the spell's target.
For the shorter-range spell (air), the speech is mind to mind, and can be silent or out-loud. Both Teodor and Sasha use the air spell (neither has an earth affinity), and so their communications are silent. Dacien's signature doesn't help him here, he can't passively listen in on mental communications. Whether he can do so deliberately or not is a different question
Hopefully that helps?
Cheers,

Ah, yes. I wasn't sure how to explain it, but now I know. I understanded that the spells' difference, well, sort of.
Ruus wasn't talking while he was talking to the council at chapter...2? or 3? In Cold Blood. So he was talking, then.
I'm about 1/3 away from the end of chapter 1 of CB. You are right. It is about as hard as to write it.
Keep up your good work!

Hi Bowblack -
In a sense, you are writing it. Doing translations is tough. Let me know if there's anything I can do that would make it easier, up to and including sending you the masters (these are maintained as Open Office Writer .odt files, connected via an .odm master).
Cheers,

Yes, in a sense. But It doesn't really require much of creative writing skill or thinking for translation.
That's why I thought it could be easier.
The master file could be helpful, since CB was published into a ebook, it has been go through for a final edit.
However, I was considering posting them with the English text for people who doesn't have much English skill...but able to read English. I wasn't sure that could be fair though...
I can just take out the English part though, I just need it to be there in the file I do the translation.
I'll send you those files, although you don't really need to read it. It's not like you can understand it though.
Since I save them as .doc, I think I will need to get Open Office later.
I do need to ask you about the whole chapter that was talking about Wolvens though. I don't see how it effects the story even until now, so I may need to consider to translate that part or not.
