Thanks for your care, I didn't even realize I'm in a comfort zone.
I'm studying from tutorials on YouTube and now studying through animation + rigging course by p2design, but actually not sure to leave the comfort zone...could you tell me how I should leave it?

Firsty, I'm no animator, but I am an artist and this advice does count for projects like yours. For stories to start off, think about what you would normally do for an animation and study them so you can do smaller changes, examples of seeing certain patterns I've found were:
- the story use of an unwilling prey, and a mean predator to bully and tormenting their meal for digestion
- certain animations imply a video game boss fight
- and most times the models are of pokemon (I don't blame you with this, modeling from scratch might be difficult)...

I am not telling remove everything you normally do, but write down changes that can aid in variety, examples of this can be:
- maybe have the predator and prey relationship be wholesome and non-fatal with the giant pred helping their prey, or the pred being unwilling to eat the prey...

As for techno babe, maybe exercise with exercise for the character's emotions, those are shown greatly, but they imply more negative aspects like fear, evil pleasure, or have a sadistic attitude...

Sorry if my advice wasn't much help. But word to the wise, always find ways to experiment with what you have. Otherwise we won't learn enough more.

Hmm certainly it'd be interesting to try out some different situations, like a comedy drama between pred and prey, or between preys. I was not so much focusing on complex story plot recently but doing some challenges on it sounds fun and helpful.
