Yeah character growth!
I might of overstated my hand there, but to keep things vague, no it's not technically the reason everyone is lizards though it is itself a victim of the same event (The Pulse) that made the dragonscape... but it's something far and away different from those who do not find themselves drowning in the morii and enuii of existence within the resonant fold of mortal scale

The first act is just the two weeks of Oli and Forl journeying to Boise and this story has more followed a year of living with the Broncens in the Star Den north of Boise. You can follow the Journal entries to get a good grip of the date (until Olis tablet shut down)

And the thing is, they don't have the be the memories that make Oli who she is. It can be the ones that prevent her from becoming who she needs to be.

Well to be fair, to them this is just a rare thing that happens but sadly cannot be stopped. If they try to stop the call of the Dragon've Paradise then they are drug up into the mountains by force, by their own claws.
You can't say no to a god that can control your movements if it wishes to

As I understand it, if they would not have gone to the funeral and would not have lingered in these parts in principle, they could have avoided meeting him? How to avoid losing memories?
And yes, a sad, sad, omnipotent enemy, against which it is simply impossible to go if you have already encountered him.
