It's so strange to be wracked by longing and anger,
wanting you to stay away forever and still hold me every day.
I yearn to hear from you and never again want to hear your voice.
I crave your touch but I know I'd shrink from it, not by choice.
I'm searching for any speck of my soul
to plant within my vacant heart –
a seed so that I may someday live again
and once again be whole.
